Default Options Settings

Description, Purpose and Objective

NOTE

The Default Options view is the system analytic configuration section that allows coordinators and administrators to define default responses or preferred methods for different proficiency evaluation events (PEEC/POQTROL).

A Default Option (or Default Response) is a pre-loaded value in dynamic forms that is automatically presented to the user when they are going to enter their results. This data may include methods of analysis, preferred units of measurement, or common reagents.

The objective of this view is to optimize the data entry flow for participating organizations, reducing typographical errors and reducing the time required to complete reports.

Context of Use

This module is used by support staff or event coordinators to:

• Preload common methods: Establish the most used analytical methods for analytes in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology or Urinalysis events.
• Clone configurations: Copy the responses and parameters defined in a previous event to the current event to avoid manual re-entry of information.
• Set up dynamic quizzes: Link predefined questions and answers that participants will find on their entry forms.

Possible Actions

1. View Configuration by Event Type

The system organizes the interface into interactive tabs, each tab corresponding to a type of active event on the platform (for example, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology or Uroanalysis). Clicking on a tab loads the questions configured for that specific event.

2. Configure Default Responses and Methods

To assign the default values that participants will see:

1. Select the tab of the event you want to configure.
2. For each question or analyte listed:
   • Select the recommended or default scanning method from the drop-down list.
   • Specify the instrument or unit if the form requires it.
   • Fill in numeric or text fields with the organization's standard responses.
3. Click the save button to register the default response template.

3. Copy Options from Previous Events

To speed up the parameterization of a repetitive event:

1. Click the "Copy from previous event" or "Copy previous responses" button.
2. Select the historical event for which you want to import configuration data.
3. The system will overwrite the current fields with the imported information.
4. Make specific settings and save.

Required Technical Permits

The default response configuration is regulated by the following access keys:

• default_options_read: Allows you to enter the view and display the configured events.
• default_options_update or default_options_create: Enables field editing, default method assignment, and copying previous event configurations.
